Our business

Founded in 1876 by brothers Thomas and Stuart Musgrave, we’ve grown to become Ireland’s biggest food and grocery distributor. We’ve done it through living the values that matter to us, and partnering businesses who share them: entrepreneurial food retailers in Ireland, the UK, and Spain.

Across those countries we serve more than 3300 stores, including in the UK the Budgens and Londis chains. In 2010 our Group sales totalled €4.4 billion and our retail partners generated sales of €6.5 billion. 

The group comprises the following divisions

Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland

Supporting SuperValu and Centra, the Republic of Ireland’s leading network of supermarkets and convenience stores, over 650 in total.

Musgrave Retail Partners Northern Ireland

Supporting 41 SuperValu, 82 Centra, and 139 Mace stores in Northern Ireland.

Musgrave Retail Partners GB

Supporting Budgens (192 stores)  and Londis (more than 1700 independently owned stores) across the UK.

Musgrave Wholesale Partners, comprising three business units:

• Delivered Convenience Retail: supporting DayToday and Daybreak across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
• Musgrave Marketplace: Ireland’s first supplier of a range of multi-temperature products for caterers across the 32 counties.
• Musgrave Cash & Carry: serving more than 34,000 customers from 9 depots in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland through deliveries and cash & carry.
